After the nuclear war, those who survived packed into bunkers, scraping by on whatever meager rations are left. You are one of the ones sent out.
Your mission is to head into designated areas, track down the goods the bunker needs, and haul them back. But out in the open, it's never that simple. Every place worth scavenging is eyed by others who want it just as badly. You can't just grab and run—you have to stand your ground and fight off wave after wave until the dust settles.
Once you clear a place, you don't even have to head back right away; you can push your luck and keep going. But remember: once you step outside, the bandages you have on you are the only way to treat your injuries, and we don't give you any. If you die out there, you lose everything you had, gone forever—never to be recovered. We keep whatever scrap metal you manage to bring back, hoping it's enough to craft better weapons for you on the next run, or for the next person we send out there.
