About This Game
Spirit Stream is a freshwater ecosystem sandbox about discovering wildlife, forming Soul Bonds with creatures, and experiencing the world through their bodies.
Explore changing river habitats filled with fish, shrimp, plants, predators, and other wildlife. Watch creatures school, graze, hunt, react to danger, and interact with their environment as you discover new species and record what you learn in the Finomicon.
Form Soul Bonds with creatures you encounter and inhabit them yourself. Each creature changes how you move through the world, interact with your surroundings, approach other wildlife, and participate in the ecosystem.
Between river excursions, return to your persistent Home Pond. Restore its habitat, grow plants, build shelters and other structures, attract visitors, and invite creatures to stay. Over time, the pond becomes an ecosystem shaped by the creatures you collect and the way you choose to play.
Explore peacefully, search for rare creatures and Color Variants, restore habitats, experiment with the simulation; or cause ecological chaos and see what happens.
Discover a Living Freshwater World
Explore distinct river regions and search their habitats for fish, shrimp, plants, predators, and other wildlife. Observe how creatures behave individually and as part of the ecosystem around them.
Form Soul Bonds and Inhabit Creatures
Befriend creatures and form Soul Bonds that allow you to inhabit their bodies. Different species offer different movement, interactions, ecological roles, and ways to experience the world.
Build a Home Worth Returning To
Restore and customize your persistent Home Pond. Garden, build habitats, attract visiting wildlife, invite residents to stay, and gradually turn an empty pond into a thriving community.
Observe, Collect, and Learn
Expand the Finomicon as you discover species, observe their behaviors, and encounter different Color Variants throughout the world.
Shape the Ecosystem
Your actions can influence habitats, resources, creatures, and the balance between species. Build something stable, intervene when things go wrong, or experiment with the simulation and watch the consequences unfold.
Play Your Way
Focus on creature collecting, exploration, habitat restoration, ecosystem management, or simply watching the simulation develop around you. Randomized river expeditions create new combinations of habitats and wildlife to discover as you continue building your Home Pond.
