You were an ordinary hauler on a routine run when the hole opened. Now you're stranded in a galaxy nobody back home has mapped, sharing it with castaways from other places and other times. Salvage what you can. Build something that lasts. Follow the rumors about the Iron Reach, or find your own way home.

Build a base that fights back

Mine asteroids and haul the ore home to a base you lay out yourself. Power it with solar arrays, fusion cells and reactors, feed your smelters and assemblers with conveyor belts and extractors, and upgrade turrets, walls, batteries and storage through three tiers. Utility drones tow asteroids and gather drops, combat drones fly escort, and your base keeps producing while you're away.

Hold the line

The Wardens guard the Iron Reach, and they don't like what you're building. Raids grow with your base, and they come whether you're home or not. Rifts tear open overhead, Siege Carriers anchor out of range and launch drone waves, Harvesters go for your storage, and named elites turn up carrying rare loot. Hold out and the raid leaves a cache of Warden Alloy behind.

Outfit your ship

Choose from 75 hulls, engines and weapons across five eras of salvage. Switch between lasers and ballistics mid-fight, cycle through four firing modes, and finish your ship with paint and decals. Learn recipes scavenged from the dark and craft modules at your assembler.

Land on alien worlds

Scan a planet from orbit, then land and explore it on foot. Nine planet types each have their own creatures, plants, weather and day/night cycle. Fill your bestiary with the field scanner, loot abandoned sites, and get back to the ship before the storm rolls in.

Face what guards the dark

Some of the galaxy's residents are bigger than you. The Iron Serpent hunts the open void. A clockwork sentinel hides its core behind spinning rings you have to line up. The Kaleidrex turns your own lasers back on you. Each one makes you rethink your loadout.

Follow the Solvanes

Ancient alien Solvanes stand scattered across the galaxy, each one turned toward something far away, and most of them lean the same way. Dock at outposts, walk their halls, take on the survivors' quests, and piece together what the Iron Reach really is.

A world built on rumor

Every castaway has a theory and none of them match. The story is told through wrecks, contradictory tales and a galaxy that never quite explains itself. What you believe is up to you.
