The National Agency for Space Stations has an aging station, a budget that expects it to fail, and a crew it considers replaceable: you, and up to three friends to share the blame. Every problem has one fix; the danger is doing it wrong in front of everyone. You can't win, only last.
CLOCK IN. EVERYTHING BREAKS. GET HOME.
Between shifts the crew lives in the home cluster: bunks, a med bay, a rec room and a TV. Nothing happens until somebody calls the shift. Then the gates open, problems break out across the station and drain it while you hunt down the tools the agency has reissued somewhere new. When the clock runs out, everyone comes home, the downed get carried, and the pay goes out. Spend it, call the next shift, repeat.
Every few shifts the agency welds more rooms onto the station and the problems come faster. The crew never grows. Some shifts arrive with special orders: incoming missiles, failing gravity, an unsuited inspector who walks into every live problem to write it up, or an impostor wearing a crewmate's face. It all ends when the station does, with a Notice of Non-Continuance.
SIX PROBLEMS. ONE APPROVED PROCEDURE EACH.
The hole in the wall has stars in it and drags gear and crewmates toward it until somebody braces and cranks the HULL CLAMP shut. Then come fires, coolant leaks, blackouts, crashed terminals and a radiation leak only the GEIGER COUNTER can find.
BETTER WITH FRIENDS
Play solo or online with up to three friends. Invite your Steam friends, join a shift late, and rejoin if you drop. Everything runs on low-gravity physics, so every fix can go wrong in a way your friends will bring up later. Go down and a crewmate can haul you to the med bay. Die and your name goes on the memorial wall while the agency approves your replacement.
OFF THE CLOCK
Between shifts, spend your pay. Stock up on supplies, chip in with the crew on station upgrades, or buy perks with a catch from the alien salesman whose food truck docks now and then. Or build out the rec complex one room at a time: bowling, basketball, dodgeball, laser tag, poker and blackjack, arcade cabinets, beer pong, darts and checkers, plus a jukebox to fight over. Games you own come with you to your friends' stations.
DRESS FOR THE VACUUM
Pick your astronaut from four real space pioneers: Laika, Ham, Félicette and Marfusha. Then raid the wardrobe for helmets, suits and headwear no agency would approve, and an emote for every occasion. Your outfits and emotes belong to you, not the station, so your look follows you everywhere.
SPONSORED BY YOUR GOVERNMENT
Everything looks like a 1960s agency pamphlet and reads like a memo. Orders arrive on a CRT, safety films play in the hab, supply drops are credited to departments that have nothing to do with space, and every bonus has a name nobody double-checked. Nobody asks the crew anything. An original soundtrack by Andrew "Andy Ashley" Milburn and Carlos Martinez scores the whole thing.
Dedicated to all who sacrificed everything for the space program.
