Your village has fished in these waters for generations. Then the trawlers came. No flags, no permits, nets the size of a football field. Now the fish are gone, and waste is washing up on the shore.
So you go out and deal with it yourself.
Sumalia is a 4-player co-op game about modern-day piracy. Start with a beat-up skiff and a tank of fuel. Raid island outposts, small vessels and massive cargo ships, fight off their security and bring home whatever pays: cargo, or the crew. Turn the profit into bigger boats, a floating base, and a village worth coming home to.
START SMALL, RAID BIG
Your first boat is a skiff with an engine that sounds like a cough. Hit islands and smaller vessels until you can afford to go after the cargo ships. Those ones shoot back.
FIGHT FOR IT
Security crews don't hand over the cargo because you asked nicely. Board under fire, clear the deck, grab what you can and get off before it all goes wrong.
CARGO OR CAPTAINS
Not everything worth taking is in a crate. Haul the loot home and sell it, or take the people aboard and hold them for ransom. Crates don't need feeding. Hostages pay better. Choose your headache.
STEAL IT, SELL IT
Loot doesn't feed anyone until it's sold. Fence the goods, collect the ransoms, and put the money back into the operation.
BUILD YOUR BOAT, PAY FOR IT LATER
Small hull and a big engine? Fast, fragile, thirsty, and no room for loot. Big hull? Slow, tough, and holds everything you steal. Every upgrade is a trade. Pick the one you can live with, or at least die in.
YOUR BASE FLOATS
Eventually you outgrow the skiff. Get a ship big enough to run your whole operation from, upgrade your floating base, and take the crew further out than a skiff ever could.
REBUILD THE VILLAGE
Every haul goes home. Put up new buildings, fix the infrastructure and bring your village back to life. As it grows, new shops open, and the gear they sell gets you through the next raid.
FUEL IS EVERYTHING
No fuel, no chase. Ships don't slow down out of politeness. Run dry and you can always row home. You will not enjoy it.
THE SEA DOESN'T CARE
Food and water run out. A long row home turns into a very long row home, and then it turns into nothing at all. Plan accordingly, or don't, and learn.
SAY IT TO THEIR FACE
Proximity voice chat. Shout across the deck, whisper on the ladder, scream when someone forgets the fuel can.
MAKE HIM YOURS
Full character customization, including forehead sliders.
Yes, really.
