WELCOME TO CIRCORA
United States, 2001.
Circora is a first-person psychological horror game set inside a vast corporate entertainment complex built to feel less like a building and more like a world of its own.
Publicly, Circora promised recreation, comfort and carefully designed experiences for families.
Behind that image was another project.
A system intended to study fear — and change the way people responded to it.
ENTER CHILD MODE
Fear depends on perception.
A dark room feels dangerous because it looks dark.
A height feels impossible because the distance below feels real.
Child Mode was designed to interfere with that perception.
Colors change. Shapes soften. Spaces become safer, brighter and easier to understand.
The environment remains the same.
What you see does not.
But altering perception does not necessarily remove fear.
Sometimes it gives it somewhere else to go.
EXPLORE AND INTERACT
Move through offices, transit spaces, public areas and restricted sections of the Circora complex.
Operate machinery, access corporate systems, manipulate physical objects and use the environment itself to progress.
Some obstacles can be solved in reality.
Others change completely once Child Mode is active.
A PLACE DESIGNED TO FEEL SAFE
Circora focuses on atmosphere, environmental storytelling and the gradual breakdown of a carefully controlled corporate world.
As the facility begins to reveal what it was built for, the distinction between an abandoned experiment and an experiment still in progress becomes increasingly difficult to make.
Circora is independently developed by a solo developer in Kazakhstan.
