An incremental game about Seu Zé's popcorn cart, parked outside an old street cinema in Brazil. What goes into the paper bag turns into money, and the money turns into more pots.
Catch it before it hits the sidewalk
Hold the click on the cart and the pot heats up. The popcorn jumps over the awning; you run under it with the paper bag. Catch enough in a row and the pot throws an extra batch.
Some kernels come out with a topping
Now and then one pops already dressed, in sugarcane honey or Romeo and Juliet (guava paste with cheese, a Brazilian classic), and it's worth more than a plain one. Flavors are another story: buying a new one doesn't erase the old ones, so the heap ends up every color there is.
The sidewalk has limits
What falls stays on the ground. The heap grows into a hill until the cinema disappears under it. At some point someone's grandma shows up with a basin and hauls what she can to Zé's basket. There's also a broom: sweeping pays nothing, but they say whoever cleans a lot gets rewarded.
JACKPOP
Let the heap cover the whole screen and the sidewalk blows. Every kernel on the ground flies back up at once, and you can catch all of it.
The business keeps growing
It starts on the corner by the cinema and soon reaches the plaza. Then the city, and one day all of Brazil, because everybody loves popcorn.
Sell the spot
When the cart is doing well, an ad shows up on the news ticker: "BUSINESS FOR SALE. Loyal clientele. Reason: travel." The ad is Zé's. You sell the spot and go back to the corner with nothing, except Grandma's recipes. In the Popcorn Bible they buy things that last for good, like a trained pigeon that catches popcorn in mid-air or a sprig of rue behind Zé's ear against the evil eye. The old cart doesn't go away. It stays on the horizon, small, with its light on.
Eventually, space
The street lifts off. The cinema ends up on an orbital platform, with the Earth below and toppings coming down like rain.
