Keep the lights on after dark
Blackstart is a puzzle game about the electric grid. You start with a few power plants and a few towns. Every day the map grows, and every morning you make one choice: more cable, or a new source of power. During the day almost anything works. At night the solar panels go quiet, the wind does what it wants, and the whole region switches its lights on at once.
A grid that behaves like one
- Power flows along every path you give it, and each cable carries only so much. A thick line is a busy one. A red line is where the grid chokes.
- Batteries save the afternoon sun for the evening. Thermal plants never stop. Wind is strong one hour and gone the next.
- While you drag a cable, the game shows how much more power it will deliver at the evening peak.
Every blackout has a reason
When a city goes dark, the game tells you why: no cable to a plant, a line at its limit, or not enough generation for the peak. Each morning brings a one-line summary of the night before. Lost on day 12? Go back to the start of that day, paused, and fix the plan.
17 regions of Brazil, each with its own rule
From the southern pampas to the Amazon, every map brings something new:
- Storms that flood the Jacuí Delta and cut every cable across the river
- Pantanal wetlands that go under water two days out of five
- Wind on the Ceará coast that only picks up at night
- A nuclear plant in Angra that makes 84 MW, if your cables can carry it
- Thermal plants in western Paraná that need outside power to start
- Long lines in the Amazon that lose energy along the way
After the campaign
- 48 challenges on the campaign maps
- Season, a roguelite run of random maps, upgrades and risky contracts
- Endless modes, including an endless version of every region
- A daily challenge and a daily Season, with the same map for everyone
- 24 achievements
Play it your way
