Harold
Harold is a socially awkward office worker in his early 60s. He is undervalued, overworked, and treated badly by his bosses. In his spare time he builds replica WWI planes and plays an online drone simulator.
Government agents notice how many hours he has logged. They recruit him. The fate of a fallen city is now in his hands.
The missions
You play from Harold's basement. A mission comes in. You choose a drone and its specs, then take off.
You recon, evade, destroy, and navigate. The drone is fast and responsive. The agents ask for more each time, and Harold's orders get harder to justify.
The programme
Harold learns the agency's real plan. They are preparing an AI surveillance programme they believe will end crime in the city.
The mission is serious. The story around it is a comedy, and the people Harold meets are broad, familiar characters.
The choice
Harold has to choose.
Stay loyal to the agency. Stop the city's gangs from raiding their office, and let the surveillance programme go live. Crime falls. Citizens lose their privacy.
Or turn on the agents. Fly a drone into their defended data centre and destroy the AI running the programme. Crime continues. The city is free from that surveillance.
As you progress, you unlock more levels, including ones outside the city.
