The Debt of Chronos is a narrative strategy thriller about time travel, money, crime, and the consequences of changing history.
Your father, Aaron, owes a dangerous mob more than he can ever repay. Then a mysterious man named Lee arrives from the future with an impossible warning: if your father dies now, the butterfly effect will send the future into chaos.
Lee offers you a way to prevent it—time travel. But there are rules. You cannot simply take money into the past. You must invest the capital you already have, return to the present with enough profit to meet the mob’s demands, and avoid damaging the timeline in the process.
Discover that paying may not be enough
Gloria, the girlfriend of mob boss Carmine, arrives with a warning of her own: even if the debt is fully repaid, the mob may still kill your father. She offers you a risky way out—along with her own terms for cooperation.
Travel through time
Each round gives you up to seven visits to the past through unstable wormholes. Arrival dates are unpredictable, opportunities are limited, and every journey brings you closer to another deadline in the present.
Invest with future knowledge
Choose from a limited selection of assets, decide how much capital to commit, and attempt to profit from historical market movements. After each visit, decide whether to travel again or return to the present. Keep cash in reserve, spread your risk, or concentrate your fortune on a single opportunity—but every decision has consequences.
Manage debt and survival
Pay mob installments, handle loans, protect your remaining time, and keep your father alive. Running short of money can force you toward increasingly dangerous alternatives.
Face unpredictable consequences
Each passage through the wormholes disturbs the timeline and can trigger unpredictable consequences. Blackmail, criminal threats, loan sharks, Time Police, paradoxes, unexpected opportunities, and the consequences of breaking the rules can dramatically reshape your path.
Shape your own timeline
Your decisions influence later events, available options, relationships, and the final outcome. Randomized events, different investment opportunities, multiple endings, and five difficulty levels make each playthrough different.
Can you build enough wealth to save your father, outmaneuver the mob, and prevent the future from collapsing—or will your attempts to change time create an even worse catastrophe?
