The one who has lost.
The one who was created.
As their desires and obsessions begin to intertwine, the boundaries of what Torii believed it meant to be human slowly begin to unravel.
What does it mean to be human?
And who gets to decide what a life is worth?
DORII —stairway to heaven— is a psychological horror visual novel that explores human nature, loss, love, and what it means to choose one's own path in life, through a story centered on human cloning.
Through music and visuals, the story brings its characters' emotions and choices to life in a complete experience lasting approximately 4–5 hours.
A Note from the Creator
I once brought this manuscript to an editor in the publishing industry.
However, I was told that its subject matter would make it difficult to publish commercially.
Even so, this was the story I wanted to share with the world more than any other.
Rather than leave that decision to someone else, I wanted to tell the story I believed in, in the way I chose.
So, with the help of AI technology, I created this visual novel independently.
That is how DORII came to be.
