Nanyang: Ballad of WarNanyang: Ballad of War

One card to break their ranks. One fleet to brave the Southern Seas.

This is a strategic card game with auto-battler combat, set in a Chinese-inspired world of seafaring fantasy. Choose your hero, recruit followers, deploy equipment, and arrange your front and back rows. As your forces clash automatically, play cards from your hand to seize the moment and break through enemy formations.

Across the storm-tossed seas of Nanyang, wooden tokens kindle spirit fire, weapons bear mystical glyphs, and sea beasts forge pacts with humans to journey by their side. With a ship full of companions and a hand full of cards, set out to brave these waters.

Your forces fight on their own. Turning the tide is up to you.

Before battle, place your followers and equipment where they belong. Front and back rows, neighboring pieces, and the space occupied by pieces of different sizes all shape how your formation works.

Once combat begins, units act automatically. But the cards in your hand can still change the course of battle: deliver an extra hit, protect a piece of equipment, or play a wooden talisman to trigger a cascade of effects. Building your formation matters—and so do the cards you choose to play.

Three banners. Three ways to break their ranks.

Seafarers’ League | Bound by one pact, they fight for their place at sea.

Wooden talismans set equipment and allies in motion. A single card can trigger multiple responses, bringing your deck and battle formation together to work as one.

Heaven-Mandated Navy | Form ranks upon the waves. Let a hundred war engines roar as one.

Armored troops guard your equipment, while repairs and shields help you build up power. Hold the line and buy time for your next crushing strike.

Beastbinders of the Southern Seas | Read the tides, forge pacts with sea beasts, and weather the waves together.

Raise sea beasts, nurture their growth, and choose the right moment for them to evolve. Face the wind and waves alongside the creatures of the deep.

One sea. Many ways to build your fleet.

Choose from three factions and six heroes, each with their own origins and unique talents. Find followers, equipment, and cards that complement your hero, then refine your combinations as your journey unfolds.

Chain wooden talismans, guard equipment while building power, or nurture sea beasts toward their next evolution. From the effect of a single card to the interplay of your entire formation, discover the next combination that makes everything click.

Win the battle at hand. Keep something in reserve for the voyage ahead.

Choose your destinations along the route, encounter events, refit your fleet, and face new battles. Think one step ahead: what you gain now matters, but so does what you will need for the fights to come.

Take your newly discovered combinations back to sea, where every leg of the voyage becomes a fresh test of your formation.
