Open Daily in NYC is a shop-management and life-sim game about a corner deli in New York. Gloria, the old owner, is off to look after her grandkids and has handed the shop to you. What it sells, who it serves, and what it becomes is up to you.
From every coffee to the back kitchen
Set the menu and prices, then put Amei and Tony on the counter, the coffee station, and the grill: who holds each station, who covers. You don't make every order yourself. Decide how hard everyone pushes, which order goes first, and which orders the shop takes, and when the rush hits, the shop runs on your rules. When something jams, change a rule instead of jumping in. Stock, staff, and the weekly rent keep forcing tradeoffs.
From strangers to regulars
What you sell and how you sell it decides who walks in. Regulars keep coming back, ask for favors, or invite Amei out after closing, and bit by bit you learn their lives as ordinary New Yorkers. Saying yes costs something: go yourself and the counter is a pair of hands short; send Tony and the shop holds, but he's the one they'll remember.
Neighborhood shop, city hotspot, or a chain
Restore the neighborhood shop the block can't do without, turn it into the place all of New York lines up for, or grow it into a chain. Each path brings in different customers, and keeps different people around.
Beyond the counter
The money isn't only for rent. Put your time and energy outside work, hunt the secondhand shop down the block for furniture and collectibles, and bring home the things real life never let you afford.
