"Baseball Biyori" is a narrative-driven baseball game played from the perspective of a catcher.
Set in a Japanese amateur league, the game casts you as the catcher. The matches feature 3D action gameplay where you call the pitches and outsmart the batter. Whether the pitcher nods or shakes his head in response to your signals—the chemistry between the battery dictates the flow of the game.
■ One season consists of 12 to 16 games
The story unfolds as you progress through matches, building a narrative that goes beyond mere wins and losses.
The league consists of 12 games; winning the league advances you to a tournament.
The unique storyline runs through the third season, though you can continue playing matches beyond that point.
■ Building trust with the team
Earning trust brings you closer to victory.
As trust deepens, small events will occur off the field as well.
■ Catcher actions
Calling a pitch involves selecting the pitch type and then designating the target location.
In addition to pitch calling and throwing out base stealers,
you can use specialized mechanics like framing, mound visits, and blocking to escape tight spots.
(Blocking is set to automatic by default.)
■ Batting actions
Batting involves selecting a pitch type and positioning your bat cursor at the moment of release to determine the batter's prediction,
followed by swinging in time with the pitch.
The bat cursor moves toward the optimal position at a speed determined by the accuracy of your prediction.
However, if you can manually align the cursor correctly, it doesn't matter if your initial prediction was off.
■ Simplified mechanics
There are no manual controls for chasing down batted balls, catching, throwing, or blocking runners;
these actions are handled or resolved automatically.
At-bats for players other than the protagonist are automatically processed via a simplified screen,
though you can change the settings to take manual control of them.
■ About Audio
The only audio in the game consists of sound effects, referee calls, and stadium announcements; there is no character voice acting.
