Prologue:
When no one was watching, he would indulge in puzzles so challenging and unforgiving that they would make him forget the world outside, and the war that consumed the galaxy.
So all he left behind for the universe to remember him by was a series of puzzles that portrayed the events that had moved and made him. This game was his story and his legacy.
He called it Heartbeats.
What the game is about:
Heartbeats is a short, narrative-driven puzzle game told through 10 handcrafted logic puzzles: ciphers, sequences, and pattern-based challenges. Each puzzle is a "page" of his story, presented in a unique 2D hand-drawn style. Solve it, and the next chapter of his life unlocks. There's no dialogue and no hand-holding; the story is told entirely through what you piece together and solve.
Originally released on iOS 10 years ago, Heartbeats was praised for how it wove a personal, wartime story into its puzzle design. For this anniversary edition, we've rebuilt the game and added an original music soundtrack and full audio design, elements the original release never had, to make it the complete experience it was always meant to be.
Key features:
10 hand-designed logic puzzles: ciphers, sequences, and pattern-based challenges, each one unlocking the next page of the story
A unique 2D hand-drawn art style
Classic point-and-click controls, built for mouse and keyboard on PC
No hints, no hand-holding: old school and unforgiving by design, you solve it yourself or you don't move on
A wordless, visual story, told entirely through puzzle design and environment, no dialogue required
New original music soundtrack and full audio design, composed specifically for this anniversary edition
A tight, focused experience, roughly 30-60 minutes to complete, built to be played in one sitting
Difficulty:
Tough and deliberate by design. There's no hint system to fall back on.
