Adam's memory doesn't live in his head. It lives in the shed behind the house — a lifetime of pages in his own careful hand, boxed, shelved, indexed — because nothing he leaves unwritten is still his by morning. While the pages exist, so does he. Touch one, and he's inside it: the whole moment, first person, exactly as it happened.
No one explains it. Everyone lives with it. It made him a writer — and it made the shed out back the safest place he knows.
Tonight, Adam is standing in his own house with no idea why — and no idea where his wife is.
He should remember tonight. He doesn't.
Her truck is in the drive. Her side of the closet is full. Her work lamp is glowing in an upstairs window. Sarah is nowhere — and every explanation is out back, on paper, with the rest of his life.
Now the search is yours.
Sit down at his desk. Open the newest ledger. Start with the last entry he wrote — then go where the record sends you. Relive the days from the inside. Audit the years against the shelves. Clear what a lifetime has buried. And pin the marriage to the wall, page by page — every route she walked, everyone she wrote to, every habit she kept — until the wall can say where she went.
ONE NIGHT. ONE HOUSE. EVERY PAGE OF A MARRIAGE.
Relive the pages. Touch a page and stand inside it — her voice, the light, the whole moment. The past isn't a cutscene here. It's a place.
Build the board. Pin what the house gives you against what the shelves give you — her people, her routes, her patterns — until a marriage becomes a map.
Keep the record honest. Read the ledgers against the shelves and let the record answer for itself — if the pages agree.
Clear a lifetime. The archive has outgrown its shelves. Lift what's stacked, move what's buried, and earn your way to the deep rows where the oldest years wait.
The Last Entry is a love story you investigate — a first-person mystery of memory, paper, and deduction, fully voiced: one house, one yard, one shed.
From the outside, it's just a shed.
Wishlist The Last Entry — and see inside.
