About This Game
One city. One story. And more than meets the eye.
Hanau, around 1900.
Fifteen-year-old Karl has only recently moved to the city and is trying to find his place in a new life. But before long, he encounters rumors, conflicting stories and events that do not seem to add up.
What begins as an ordinary fresh start soon turns into a search for clues through the streets of Hanau.
Echoes of Hanau is a story-driven third-person mystery adventure that combines a fictional crime story with a carefully researched historical setting.

Solve Puzzles and Investigate Your Surroundings
Clues can be hidden in conversations, objects or seemingly insignificant places.

A Mystery Story in a Historical Setting
Echoes of Hanau tells a fictional story set against a real historical background.
Along the way, Karl encounters different people, perspectives and social tensions. Antisemitic prejudice, rumors and propaganda become part of a story that increasingly raises the question of whom you can trust — and how words can shape beliefs and actions.
History Becomes Playable
Echoes of Hanau aims to make history not only something to learn about, but something to experience.
The game world is being created on the basis of historical research and developed together with experts, creative professionals and young people through selected projects and workshops.
At its core, Echoes of Hanau remains a game: explore, investigate, connect the clues and experience the story for yourself.
