HyperarousalHyperarousal

Hyperarousal is a first person psychological horror game set in the Camonica Valley, Italy. Garlo leaves the noise of modern life behind and returns to his family home in the mountains. What begins as a search for silence draws him into dreams that carry the memories of his ancestors.

• Explore the Camonica Valley in the present and through dreams shaped by different historical eras.
• Let your behavior shape perception as the game builds a psychological profile from the way you explore and react.
• Use Hypervision to reveal hidden clues, sounds and routes, knowing that every use has a cost.
• Solve environmental puzzles and examine objects with the Deck to connect the present with the past.

MEMORY LIVES IN THE LANDSCAPE

Explore the valley in the present, investigate forgotten places and read the traces left across the landscape. Through dreams, relive lives from different historical eras, from the ancient Camuni to the twentieth century. As the border between waking life and dream begins to weaken, Garlo’s story, his family history and the history of the land become inseparable.

PERCEPTION SHAPES THE EXPERIENCE

Hyperarousal is built around perception. The game observes how you explore, hesitate and respond to pressure. These patterns shape a psychological profile that influences Garlo’s senses, alters details in the environment and affects the paths available through the story. Important decisions are not always presented as choices. The way you move through the world matters.

The same place can become unfamiliar as Garlo’s state changes.

SEE WHAT SHOULD REMAIN HIDDEN

Hypervision lets Garlo perceive clues, sounds and routes hidden beyond ordinary sight.

Some presences do more than watch. Through Hypervision, Kernunnos can emerge as a guide when the path is lost.

Every use carries a cost. Repeated exposure makes memory, reality and hallucination harder to separate.

EXPLORE THE CAMONICA VALLEY

Exploration, environmental puzzles and attention to sound, symbols and space guide the experience. The Deck lets you examine objects, uncover hidden details and connect the present with the past. Realistic landscapes gradually give way to historical visions and psychological distortions, bringing archaeology, folklore and cosmic horror into the same world.

Developed through research into the history and rock art of the Camonica Valley, Hyperarousal tells a complete story about memory, identity and the traces that one generation leaves in the next.
